A Busy December

The past couple weeks have been packed with fun and excitement. The girls at my school threw an adorable baby shower for me. It was so much fun and I loved the candy shop theme. Thank you so much girls!

So many thoughtful gifts for Baby Mac and some pampering gifts for me!

Baby Mac will be stylin' in some cute onsies designed just for him/her.

Leslie, Jen, Jane, and Vickie made it a WONDERFUL baby shower! THANK YOU!

After wrapping up a fun filled holiday week at school, I then celebrated a big birthday... the big 3-0! Don organized the perfect day: a spa day with the girls, then food and fun back at the Gibson's! I LOVED IT!

Enjoying the great party with Mom and Dad.

It's not a party unless there's cake!

The December birthday gals.

Molly really enjoyed the CHOCOLATE CAKE too! :)

We're getting closer and closer to the due date. I can't believe we will get to meet Baby Mac soon! For now we are looking forward to enjoying the holidays with our family.

Merry Christmas!

The McKenzie Family Showers Baby Mac with Love

Thank you all for showering our Baby Mac with such love and support. Erin was beaming and had a delightful time and loved everything about her shower. A special thank you to our extraordinary party planning crew Jean, Allison, Helen, Carol and Lindsay. (pictured below) The MBAs have done it again. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Look at the cool cake!!! Shush, the baby is sleeping... you wakee you takee.

Wow! Look at all the great stuff.
And who made all those cool stockings with care?Erin and Mom beam!

And of course, the belly pic... less than 7 weeks until the stork is supposed to fly in.

It's Shower Time!!!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

The Casey Shower was just wonderful and I loved every minute! It was so special to see everyone around me is so excited to love Baby Mac. We enjoyed great food, silly games, and lots of laughs. Don and I are truly blessed to be showered with so much love in preparation for Baby's arrival. Thank you again to everyone who could join us (and to those who were thinking of us too). A very special thanks to my party planners... you were AMAZING and made the day extra special!

Time Marches On

10 more weeks of cooking for BMac, thus notice the mess everywhere as DMac completes all the messy jobs that need to be done while time allows.
Here Jean and I completed a 15K... I think we actually look better in the after photo, so I guess we should have ran more. Next up... Turkey Trot... any takers? 9 Am Turkey Day.
My office desk had 44 steps to complete... while this crib had only 4 steps, and step four was recheck the fasteners, so really only 3 steps. Thus I am still happy enough to appease the photographer.

27 Weeks... end of the 2nd Trimester

Coming to the end of the 2nd trimester and sounds like we should be taking a test. Well there are no tests, but we have been cramming on painting, cleaning, organizing before the little one arrives. I heard babies are real clean and don't have a lot of stuff, so our place will probably remain immaculate.

Baby classes are cool and the information seems like it is going to be relevant and useful.

Up Next: Halloween!

Go Bears!

Last weekend we were excited to go cheer on our Bears at our good friend's house. Baby Mac may have even been practicing some of his/her own moves while we watched the exciting game.

This Columbus holiday weekend we were busy trying to clear out the second bedroom to transform it into the nursery soon. It's amazing how much STUFF we have accumulated! I also went out shopping for a crib and dresser to see if we could find any good deals. ;)

This week Don and I begin our baby classes! More news on our first day still to come...

One, two, three KICK!

We are now into our 23rd week and Baby Mac is definitely proving to be a little mover. Maybe he/she is following in the McKenzie foot steps... destined to be a soccer star or maybe we have a little Irish Dancer on the way. I LOVE feeling the little kicks each day now.

Don has been able to feel a couple little movements, but we look forward to showing him a big kick in the future.

We had our monthly appointment a few days ago and everything is checking out well. It's so neat to hear the baby's heart beat at those doctor visits!

22 Weeks Down, 18 More to Go.

22 Weeks down, only 18 more to go! Now Erin wears Pink but it doesn't mean what you think.
The big news is that Erin and I have registered for classes to learn about this whole experience. To make the classes more fun, we will actually be taking the class with the Russo's who are also expecting. Of course, Phil has promised to let me copy his notes.

In other news, K-man says "If you even dream about scoring on me, you better wake up and apologize." As he snuffs out another scoring attack from the Mini Orange Crush.

As a service announcement, Tessa would like to remind everyone that there are only 13 more shopping days left before her 10th bday on 9/29. Topping her wish list in 2009 is a lake to swim in. Tied in 2nd -10th position are all tennis balls.

The First "Addition"

Welcome all of you to the first "addition" of The McKenzie Times. This blog will serve as a fun little tool for all of you to take a peak into our world at your convenience.

Should you have any fun content or would like to write for the blog, please let me know and I can add you as an author. The leash will be short and the pay will be none, but if you have fun stories to share then 2 is better than one.

Many of you will ask... "Guys, why are you having kids?... for satisfaction, to raise a family, to be a part of something bigger carrying out God's mission?" The truth is we just wanted to beat the Gibson Clan in a good old fashioned slurping contest and by golly, right now we are severely out gunned.

To share the news with the family... we made up this cute little T-shirt and Erin donned it... our first notification went to the Casey Clan and wow Larry was so excited his hair spiked right up!

Next, we told Grandma Carol McKenzie who suprisingly shrieked with glee... something like... "AAHHHHHHHHHHHH". Her beaming face is pictured below...

Then on the Father's Day picnic, we shared the exciting news with the rest of the McGibRossBerg Fam... who were super excited as well.

So you wanna see a black and white pic of the kiddo? Below Baby Mac is pictured at 20 weeks. Currently BM is 21 weeks and as far as we know behaving.
We didn't find out the sex, but were pleased to hear the Doc say everything looks good. Also, it was fun to see Baby Mac's mouth chattering away. Speculators think he/she was saying "Hello"... or "Go Labrador Luck!".

... and of course... the blog wouldn't be complete without a pic of the big and getting bigger belly!
(The blue shirt means nothing... or does it?)

Our roommate Tessa is super pumped as well, expecting a new found showing of good quality table scraps making to the floor level. If Baby Mac is anything like little Emily, then it is a virtual jackpot. What she doesn't know yet is that she will have to share some of her bags... and yes a great deal of her attention.

Til next time... Don & Erin
